Congratulations to zanlinphonn for winning ConHex championship #29!!!

Although the tournament is still underway, the winner is clear. Congratulations to our new challenger zanlinphonn for taking the crown!

I originally met with them on another turn-based site Yucata.de, where they are the top-rated player (by a wide margin). After playing a few games I recommended that they should try Little Golem. Five months later I am surprised to find that they won the championship with a straight row of wins!

I do not know much else of our contestant, except that they seem to be from Taiwan and speak little English. However, I am glad and excited to see they bring a brand new response to Musti's distinctive opening move!

Looks like both Jos and Marcin were defeated by the new sequence that developed from it. It allows multiple threats while putting more emphasis than usual on the center. I am looking forward to seeing how this will develop the strategy of ConHex, and will make sure to add an appendix about it into my book :)
