Membership question

I'd like to become a member - and I saw I could pay by PayPal. However, I need to fill in a form with all kinds of irrelevant personal info, which I really don't want to do. Is this really all necessary?

I have the same problem. What is SWREG (the place you go to if you click on the pay membership). They require phone number and address. I have a PAYPAL account and would like to become a member using that. Richard - any advice here?

Never mind...figured out what SWREG was (third party order taker), usually used for shareware registrations. Just registered...now to get all those benefits from being a MEMBER!

OK, I faked the address... I just wonder why there needs to be a 4th party involved (who also wants a share of the pie, of course...)
