Dear Richard,
can we, please, have the old design of the website back?
I had a difficult path to find the "fora" again.

It now requires more clicks to navigate to the forums. I, too, prefer the old design, although it looked dated.

new design is tablet friendly
on a tablet if changing orientation
most similar sites will keep same format and fit to display width
LG will change format to maintain the same text size
P.S. quickest way to a certain forum should via a bookmark

I prefer the old one as well... after 10 years playing the old one it felt like home somehow.
I wonder if it is still possible to choose the order of play. It used to be that you could choose between:
\* least time left* same type of game* same tournament* online opponent
all of them I used but now I seem to be stuck in the first.

And a member could change his posts if he saw that the layout was wrong...

It can make you sad to compare RoRoRo's prediction table
I have/had five different accounts at LG. My personal and four bot accounts. If I had known that these five e-mail addresses would end up at a data hydra like Gravatar I would have used disposable e-mail addresses only. That was very surprising!

As Hjallti said, I wish also to be able to change the own last post. The end of my first sentence would not be missed like in post before. For any reason the part behind link was not interpreted in this case. Original sentence:
It can make you sad to compare RoRoRo's prediction table before and after the new design. The simplest Textile-table examples from Wikipedia are not displayed properly anymore...

I usually like things to change and grunt at people who are too conservative.
I've been here for more than ten years, most years as a member and now it seems I lacked the impulse to renew despite the new games... maybe I too do not feel at home here anymore.
Partial textile is really bad, maybe allowing all players to edit their posts or at least remove them would be a work-around?
The FAQ disappearance is bad too.
And not finding an agreement allowing RoRoRo back is sad.

I miss the old design too. I'm not sure I can put my finger on why, but I seem to be spending less time on the forums now than I used to. Well, at least playing the games still work pretty well.
24 Sep 2014
Does RoRoRo really need an agreement? I thought they were scraping the website for information, in which case the scripts just need to be updated. Or are you talking about the textile markup?
As for the redesign, I think it is the right direction, though there are bugs. I have a slow connection from home, so I appreciate that there are a number of actions that do not require a full refresh of the page. The old design forced you to reload the page so many times.

I don't think the emails are in Gravatar's database, unless they save every search that has no results.
In any case, I used to be a member here. I am not anymore. It's perfectly within Richard's prerogatives to say that making new things is fun but making old stuff actually work is boring. But until he pays more attention to fixing what everyone knows needs fixing, I'm too discouraged.

Actually, since everyone who has no Gravatar account (I have one) has their own icon, then unless those icons are stored at LG, I must be wrong above.

Those who like change for the sake of change should work at Microsoft on Windows 8. Oops, they all got fired!

I do like change! Life is a change. So, why not change back to the old version, but an improved old version. The old version for sure should be improved! But, the current version, according to me, is not an improvement. I lack the analyisis boards in chess an go, Many boards, like Dvonn still displays wrongly, I also don't read the forums as much as before... maybe, it also could be possible to change this current version into some of the nice old style ;) a merge between the two....

I just also have to say that I do appreciate a lot, that we are trying out this new version, this shows that LG is developing and trying to be innovative :) it is not stagnating, very nice!!! Great job, Richard. Also, this new version has some nice features! But, there are so many nice functions from the old version that got lost.... is it possible to get them back?

while removing me of all tournaments, i noticed about 2 new games...well it is a sadness...
farewell LG.
I'm going to take a rest.
