Most people believe that life in Norway consists primary of skiing and wrestling with bloodthirsty ice bears. But that is not the whole story, and as the following article proves:http://www.sjakkhistorie.no/hex-in-norway/

continuation: we also excel in Hex. Also as the article points out Hex suits perfectly the peaceful nature of Norwegian people, who are not trying to hurt you, just defending against your brutal stone attacks. Thanks to Jan Arild Teland who has red the Paper and came up with good suggestions.

I knew Playsite but not Matlab. Another important real time server for Hex was Kurnik, now Playok. And Ludoteka still has Hex tournaments every Wednesday with a one minute time control with 5 seconds increment.

Thanks for sharing. It's nice to see the faces of all the famous norwegian players :)

David: That's because MatLab is a programming language, not a game site :-) . The "playing on MatLab"-part was just me making it possible for two players (Jan Arild and me) to play Hex on a computer, rather than have to print out a Hex sheet and use pencils to make moves. I didn't get a proper board before the Wroclaw event.

I think Matlab stands for mathematical laboratory, and is a part of applied mathematics institution or something like that.
