Is there a good way to paste LG Hex game records into Jhex?

Or is there a tool that supplants Jhex?

Dvd, see this thread for a ruby script that will download any LG hex game to your computer in native Jhex format. The swap move is dealt with as follows: 1.C5 2.swap is turned into 1.E3 2.E3

Would you find an online tool like this useful if it supports Hex?

The latest version of Jhex (and also Jtwixt), 0.9a2, imports LG game records, either as plain text ("simple" format) or the LG variant of SGF (select "LGSGF" on the pop-up menu).

What I usually do is copy text from the LG game page and paste it into the Jhex import window -- cmd-I cmd-A cmd-V. It's OK to past formatted text (at least on MacOSX), and it's OK to include superfluous text before and after the game record. Just don't include anything that looks like a move, like "1. a3...".

Be sure to manually select the size of the board (13 or 19) from the pop-up menu.

I spent a few hours today to build an online Hex Board. Similar to other game analyzers on trmph.com, you can import LG Hex games, share game records by simply copying the URL, and quickly navigate using keyboard shortcuts -- "n" (next move), "p" (previous move), "f" (first move), "l" (last move).

Another option: I have a HSGF->HGT server at

Thanks to the trmph.com people: your work
spurred me to upgrade my own code to do the
download-HSGF-from-LG-for-you-behind-the-scenes thing.
