In the 13x13 game what are the two, opposite end purple hexes? I assume that they are neutral and if it comes down to it whoever gets there first, that can connect them to their border. Would that be correct?

Thanks!

The red, blue, and purple hexes around the outside are not part of the playing area. Only in the interior 13x13 region of white cells is where you may place a token. Those colored outer cells are simply labels to indicate where the border rows are. Cells M1 and A13, the obtuse corners of the board, are each a red border cell and a blue border cell. That is why the label cell next to them is purple. Cells A1 and M13, the acute corners, are also each part of a red border and a black border. But there is no appropriate outer cell to color purple in those cases. It is essential in the game of Hex that adjacent border regions share a cell. Otherwise a draw might be possible, and we don't want that. I hope this makes sense.
