1) "variance". The rating system is far too sensitive to short-term Ewn results. The ratings fluctuate wildly, and most of the bots just happen to be at an ebb right now.

2) Isn't opmp is a bot that only plays 1-pointers (like mloner on FIBS)? Is it a Lorentz bot, maybe?

3) Is Jonny a bot, or is it the author nick? (I believe he is related to the well known chess program Jonny).

Hi Darse,

Johannes Zwanzger (author of chess bot Jonny) is not active on LG.
opmp and Jonny are two accounts of one human. I know this player because
I met him in personam (in Essen's big game fair) some years ago.

Ingo.

I think Telestes deliberately retired when his rating was at a peak too, so is at not necessarily at a maintainable high. Given that I've seen kfiecio at 17xx recently, I don't think he'd claim to naturally be a 19xx.

I admit that I was using a trick to get over 1900 twice (By playing fast a lot of games and postponing the won one. You get better rating after the "action" is over than by postponing the lost one, but not as high peak). This time i have got naturally over 1900 (By having a long string of wins), but there is probably also some residue of those two times in that.

I like the YHW"s rating system better, it is more reliable. I am on around 20th plase in it.

I´m sure, if the bots playing just 5 games simultan, they will stand in the first 5 places in the list for more then months!! (accept Telestes and others who stop playing with 19xx)

And right: im not a bot :-))
