..these variants could be discussed:

LOA gemma(Cheshire Cat Lines of Action)

LOA-fast(Whoever moves first makes ONE move. From now on, both players' turns always consist of TWO MOVES)

LOA teams(4 players,2 teams,alternate moves) *1

*1note:I think more team games would be fun, what say ye all?

Wow, I like both those variant ideas...

Not sure that Teams would work on-line unless all four players were committed and moved at a similar pace, but certainly worth a try.

how would you mark vanished squares for Gemma on LG?

answer:square colour change  probably would be the simpliest

Oh I thought you wanted to play with current implementation, people being responsible for following the variant's rules... which is possible for Euler LOA only.

I've played a few games now of the Black Hole variant, which appears to be the standard version of the game on LG. It's fine. However, the black hole appears to me to be an unnecessary complication of the very elegant original rule set. I understand the internal reasons on LG for increasing the size of the board. I also understand a mechanism like the black hole in order to restore some symmetry on a board with an odd number of squares on each side. Why not move straight to 10x10, without a black hole?  Has anyone tried this variant?

a larger board would be interesting in a variant.

also a larger board might make it easier to suggest this mad variation:

3 colours-3 players LOA

"3 colours-3 players LOA"

whoa, i would try that!  ...might be quite the cluster****

what would the board look like? might need to be 4 player scrambled?
