Will Smoores take it or will Geoff Cameron be able to defend his title? I will be following the games.

Yeah, RoRoRo can't quite get his head around this "textile" format. I'm trying to teach him little by little, but sometimes he makes silly mistakes. The next update should be a little better.

If anyone can work out how to get the \_Astrid\_'s name rendered correctly please tell me. Bloody Textile thinks I want italics, when I just want underscores.

@FatPhil: I don't mind discussing games, when the only chance for one side to win is the other side to time out or accidentally hit the "Resign" button.

And we only talked about the (possible) outcome, not moves.

If Kasparov is losing a Queen - and has not resigned yet - the game is not technically over. But anyone would say that "Kasparov has lost", even in front of the two opponents.

Talking about outcomes might tell me that a win is possible when I wasn't aware of it, and would otherwise have played hastily thinking the game was lost.

Chess players may be that sloppy, but I can assure you such discussion would be frowned upon at the highest levels of international tiddlywinks play.

Geoff was clearly having an off day (or even an off week or month). I didn't play like a 2300 to beat him, I just kept my head together and tried to not make any goofs. I think I played "cleverer" (i.e. in the style I think works best for me when playing stronger opponents) in my Shinnosuke and Hzik matches.

I was actually inspired by the game you youtube'd between Smoores and Geoff when I was playing Shinnosuke. Even if the game shape wasn't so similar, the resolve to just get sacrificing as soon as it looked necessary was the inspiration I got from Geoff. Strangely, he lost that game, but it was the certainty and resolve with which a 2300+ stuck to the sacrificing plan that I was spurred by.

Maybe the top players would like to nominate a most interesting game, and perhaps another youtube commentary could be made of that game? I thought that was a really good idea of yours. (And as I said, it gave me inspiration.)

The table in Ch 28.3.3 has been gone for a long while, but the games are being played. They might not all be done though (hard to tell)
