very interesting ending...however, I don't think JeanHebert can stop takodori from reaching the corner. He could have tried dropping 39.B4d but then takodori drops 40. R3d check! He will then win the Bishop on 4d and follow that up by running the king to the corner very soon...

Perhaps Jean saw all this, and decided to take a chance and play the move he did. Maybe Takodori would resign thinking he was getting mated! (Jean would have mate next move if not for this rule)
