when a tournament finishes with 2 players level on points, how is it decided who wins? do both players advance to next round (of mc). or does the head-to-head winner advance? what about when 3 players finish level? anybody know?

When two or more players have the same number of points it is used Son as a tie breaker. If Son is equal then all players are winners.

From the FAQ:

The 'Son' is the sum of the following products. For each opponent (the score you got against him) times (the points of the opponent). So in fact a win against a better player should be more valuable then a win against the last in the tourney.

The tie in a tournament is only decided by points and son.

In Rating tournaments you just have two winners.

In Monthly Cups both (or all) winners advance.

In Championships the points-son tie will NOT be broken for the decision of the winner (There can be 2 Champions: see rev.2.1.1); for the setup of the rounds in the next championship the rating breaks the tie; if 2 players are equally qualified to get the last spot in let's say the second league, the one with the higher rating gets in. (This for instance means that from new entries in the championship the ones with the higher rating get in higher classes)
