Though it may be true to the rules, I'd love to see an alternate version available wherein a player could move his pawn any number UP TO the number on the dice. I think this would help smooth out goofy luck issues such as the time when you need to hit a square two moves away but roll a three. Just a thought.

It would be an another game. Taking into account odd and even dice number is important part of soccer strategy. I believe that Corne considered different variants and the current one is the result of his experience. Lets stay with it.

Yep, remember that Corne has experimented with Streetsoccer for almost 20 years until he reached the final version. And even then, the way we play it here slightly differs from the boardgame!

NoNoNo!!!!

This would make it MUCH easier to defend and we will have less goals. The audience love goals:)

As you like it. I realize that this would be a significant change, and therefore would expect it to only be a variant that could be selected, not a mandatory rules change across the board. (I'd also like to see the ability to split up your points to move more than one player.)

Personally, I think that "taking odd and even rolls into account" is pretty much just saying that you enjoy that kind of totally random factor in your game. If I had the ability to choose how far to move my guys, I might be able to put two defenders into some kind of position where I would be covered in the event of either an odd or even roll later. But since I had to pray for the right kind of roll to make THAT move...well, you see what I mean.

Rolling high (and/or the correct choice of odd or even) just has more to do with this game than I'd like.

I think such change will make this game slower and more defensive. I'm afraid that it will be possible to BLOCK the game... i have another proposition - and I will make new topic about it.

If you don't have to use all your pips, then a high roll is always better (or equally good) than a lower roll.

Now it can happen that a 1 is better than a 6.

I think it's a big part part of the tactics that you must use all pips. And it holds it posible to foresee the possibilities in next turns. The same counts for using 1 player per move. And moving more players slows down the moves much.
