how can you marry a holiday???

It can happen. About 20 years ago, I knew a girl whose name was [and this is NOT kidding] "Merrie Christmas." That must have been a rough childhood.

It should also be theoretically possible to divorce Halloween.

LOL! I've never known anyone with the last name of "Halloween," but have encountered some other interesting names. One couple, whose last name was "Case," named their son "Justin." The heads of the Math department at the High School I attended were Mr. Wayes and Mr. Meanes; so, naturally, people called them the "Wayes and Meanes Committee." The receptionist at one place that I worked was Janet Short...her maiden name was Janet Long. A former neighbor was Larry Micci (pronounced "MEEchee")...his wife's name was Donna. Finally, at another place I worked, several of us were fans of the off-beat, comedy movie "So I Married an Axe Murderer," and a new co-worker arrived, whose name was John Johnson, so some of us just called him Vicki. (If you don't understand that one, rent the movie).

Whether this one is true or not, I leave to the conscience of my former employer's wife, since she is the one who told this story (her husband did corroborate it, so it's on both of them if it's false). She had been in the waiting room at the gynecologist, when she and her husband heard an unusual announcement. The announcer said, "Whoever has a green Volvo, you left your lights on." The problem was, she (the announcer) didn't say "Volvo," and should have known better, all things considered. I'll leave it to you to figure out what she did say.

Oh, I know! I know what she said!
"Mercedes."
Didn't really get the joke, though.
