Thanks Dj but It is not posted. There is only 8 words posted with 198 points and mine is not one of them. You may have looked on the other side the word rhinestoned but that is not the one I'm talking about, this one was 2003-11-18 Beanchi2

Aha! A slight lack of clarity. Yes, the word posted to your score within the game, and that is what the previous replier noticed. Apparently, what you mean is that it has not shown up on the list of statistics for most valuable words under information for GWG in general, and therefore is not clearly displayed for your bragging rights. This is true, too. I don't see it there. Perhaps the updating of that list is not automatic, or at least not as frequent. Perhaps even more likely is the fact that the display of that statistic has 30 entries, so the query may be restricted to only the first 30.

Labradors...I asked a civil question and was hoping for info that answered it.I do not appreciate your sarcastic remark implying I want to know for my bragging rights...grow up!!! I know of others who made the list after me so your theory is wrong. Some of us like to challenge ourselves and has nothing to do with bragging.I would be one of the first to congratulate anyone that makes a good word....instead of spending your time being sarcastic to people why not put that energy into getting on the list your self...I asked for help not ignorance.
30 Nov 2003
i did not consider labradors' response to be sarcastic.
the way i read it he was agreeing with you completely. he merely said bragging because we'd all like to brag a bit if we got a word with that good a score. all said with good intentions :)
30 Nov 2003
Hi Fred sorry to diagree with you but I took it as being sarcastic, before I answered others read it and thought it was sarcastic too.Just for clarifiction I do not like to brag.If Labradors meant it in good faith I certainly do apologize.
30 Nov 2003
I apologize if my remark appeared sarcastic. The term "bragging rights" is just a simple colloquial expression intended to convey that your accomplishment would made public for all to see. Had I intended otherwise, I would have said something like "braggarts list," which would not have been a pre-existing expression, but something directly aimed at your character. Since I know nothing about your character, nor of your personal interest with whether or not you appear on the list, any attempt at sarcasm or worse would have been particularly prejudicial.
So, once again, I'm sorry. If nothing else, it became an interesting object lesson in the difference between denotation and connotation.
30 Nov 2003
For what it's worth, Labrador's reply did not come across as sarcastic or spiteful in any way to me.
30 Nov 2003
Thanks Ed for your comment!!
30 Nov 2003
HI Labradors, appreciate your further comments. I too am very sorry if I jummped the gun and reacted harshly.Maybe this is one female that misunderstood a male.We really do think differently......Please accept my apology...Thank-you everyone for your time.

No offense intended or taken.

Labradors.....I'm glad we are friends again !!!!! lol
1 Dec 2003
LOL. This could be the start of a beautiful friendship. [I guess I'd better give apologies to Humphrey Bogart as well, then.] ;-)
1 Dec 2003
LOL Play it again Sam!! Love your wit!
1 Dec 2003
And Yes, I thought your comment referred to the points not being posted in the game. I did not think about the biggest points list, where I would love to have a biggest word, or most points, and boy would I brag about it! LOL
1 Dec 2003
Hi DJ,lol I would listen to your bragging....it's just not for me!!Hope you accomplish it and I will be one of the first to send congrats!!Although I don't think Aliped will be beat for a long time if ever.Sent her congrats she was very Humble.NOT saying you are not!!! LOL

The list of most valuable words is generated every 24 hours. The reason why beanchi2' word with value 198 points is not in that list is because the list has only 30 items. The last word in that list has 198 points and I understand that beanchi2 can be angry that he is not in the list too (I would be angry!). In future there will be more then 30 items in that list, so maybe we will see beanchi2 in that list twice /he is there with word of fantastic 324 points/.

Marek,
Since that page only shows the first 30 entries, how about adding a link at the top of the column that would generate a separate page with the top 100? This would not eliminate the problem, but would move it further down the list. Of course, a complete list with no such boundary would be too much processing and bandwidth. One other option, though more complicated to code, would be finding the score that occurs at position 30, then allowing the display to include the remainder of the entries that have the same score. Of course, that would entail an additional query (score >= [score of position 30]).
2 Dec 2003
I think that show first (let's say) 30 words + those with same score looks best.
2 Dec 2003

I've been planning on joining for a while now, but need to get a job first. This really is a great site, especially with the way the tournaments are set up.
4 Dec 2003
That's the boat I'm in, too. I used to make a lot (by most people's standards, not by everyone's) of money. But I was foolish enough to quit thinking I could find something more meaningful to me, and to do that at a time when both I and the economy were fairly depressed and not clicking on all cylinders. Now it's been 2 years since I've had full-time work, and I can't spend money on non-necessities.
I imagine there are many of us in similar circumstances. I hope as the economy picks up and we have more to give, Richard (and Marek) get well rewarded for providing such a wonderful place.
4 Dec 2003
Labradors and Dvd Avins...Shows you have appreciation for this great site.Hope you both get jobs soon.Richard and Marek are doing a great job, sounds like Judy is working hard too.Don't laugh but my card is already maxed so figured whats another 20 bucks.I can be very frugal but sometimes complusive lol In the mean time guys those of us that can, will support those who can't join right now.Just showing your appreciation means alot to Richard and Marek Im sure.CIAO
4 Dec 2003
I understand the request. I have a similar one, (and I think my situation is even a worse offence of 'bragging rights') I won the second reversi championship tied with Lin Liu and I'm not on the reversi page as winner!
4 Dec 2003
Hi Hjallti, Totally understand your frustration...Hope someone has the answer to this one.Maybe these are the kind of things that have to yet be worked out.Hope this can be rectified for you.Beanchi
5 Dec 2003
This one seems a little less complicated: Even though you both had the same number of wins, points, and "son," Lin Liu won the match between the two of you, and that breaks the tie.
5 Dec 2003
No, it doesn't. Head-to-head competition is not a tie-breaker here.
8 Dec 2003
Indeed in my own page it says I won the tournament, so even if you could want head-to-head being tie-breaker (which would make that much, giving already the most SON even more important; so actually it would be logical to make it a tie-breaker the other way around), or rating would be a tie-breaker, they aren't (by the rules during that tournament) so I actually won the tournament, and should be acredited for it.
