What do you guys think about the idea of having a golem "decathalon" rating and ranking list (sum of ratings in the 10 elo rated games) for overall game skill? This might encourage avid game players to try new games and increase the competition for everyone.
I guess you would probably have to give everyone a minimum 1500 in every game to give people a chance to learn new games without hurting their rating too much (for example, it takes a while to get to 1500 from scratch in chess). You could also include Go9x9 with a linear formula with 20kyu being 1500, and 1dan being 2000 equivalent. Go13x13 and Go19x19 are a bit too slow to improve your rating significantly, but if you include 9x9, maybe the go diehards will still be happy.
I'm curious to see who the strongest overall player on the server is!
What does everybody think?

Great idea! Rio ought to have fun coding that. I'd like to hear more about it, but don't know if I could offer any suggestions.

I think Taral is the strongest :->

I calculated the score for a few decent "all-rounders" I have seen here to get an idea of what kind of scores one should aim for. In every game in which a player was above 1500, the rating minus 1500 was added to the score. In Go 9x9, I took 25 times (20 kyu minus rank), but 25 may be too low. Not guaranteed error-free, and ratings may have changed from I looked at them until this is read!
Cynic Kim 1167
Taral 1094
Tasmanian Devil 1078
Klaashaas 1040
Crelo 1035
So Cynic Kim comes out on top from my little test group with his high ratings in TwixtPP and Gomoku. But his TwixtPP rating has been very unstable lately! ;-)

Very sorry, forgot David J Bush with a very impressive score of 1336.

Jose Maria Grau Ribas looks pretty good at 1749 (and his rating was a LOT stronger in many games before he apparently forfeited all his games simultaneously). I think the current champ must be mirror_man who has 1944.

I better start playing more games then! ;)

At this very moment, Taral and yper are deciding head-to-head who of them is the best littlegolem player. They have finished all but the 19x19 Go games and the score is 24-24!

I wouldn't necessarily rate José Mª Grau Ribas quite so high. Alot of his rating comes from Chess, where he has yet to complete a rated game.
