Hello,
in tournament soccer.rt.2003.7.84 ( http://www.littlegolem.net/jsp/tournament/tournament.jsp?trnid=soccer.rt.2003.7.84 ) me and Barry get the same points by winning two of three games (10). I won the direct match against Barry 4-2. I although have the best scoring (me: 10:4 Barry: 6-5) of all matches. But I am just number two in this tournament.
I was wondering about this (I am not angry!). Help me understanding this constellation: How gets a tournament sorted if two players get the same points.
Thanks for answering. JanMS
P.S.: Hope u understand me English ;-) )

You are not "number two" in this tournament. You, Barry, and Indy have tied for first place.
The tie-break system used here is "Son", which is an extension of "SoDOS", or "Sum of Defeated Opponents' Scores". You, Barry, and Indy tied on points, and tied on "Son". So you all did equally well in that tournament.

Indeed; you can verify this by checking out the list of recently completed SS tournaments on this page.

Perhaps an unrelated question: When a game ends in an overtime tie, how does the system decide how to split the points?

Randy,
If nobody scores during extra time, the player who scored LAST in regular time gets 3 points, the other player 2. If it's 0-0 then both players get 2 points.

Which I think is stupid. A tie is a tie is a tie. Why give the one who scored LAST 3 points? Why not the one who scored FIRST? Give both players 2 points, or 3 points, or 2.5 points. But this 3-2 split makes absolutely no sense to me.

Why not introduce penalty shootouts? But of course that would end the Dutch predominance at Street Soccer. :-))

I don't think the system of points is stupid, it think it got a lot of figuring by Corne to find that point system throughout years of practise, I don't see why it would be stupid. A goal when the opponent is defending is harder to make anyway.
