What does this column mean in the rankings for a tournament?
Also, on an unrelated note, in Street Soccer, if a game ends in a tie after the overtime period, how does the system decide how many points each player gets? Thanks!

This has been asked before in this Forum. Quoting from the FAQ:
"If 2 players get the same points, the 'Son' is considered. The 'Son' is the sum of the following products. For each opponent (the score you got against him) times (the points of the opponent). So in fact a win against a better player should be more valuable then a win against the last in the tourney."
For example, if you defeat 3 players in a tournament, and these players get 4 points, 2 points and 0 points, then your Son would be (2x4)+(2x2)+(2x0)=12. Son is short for Sonnenberg-Barger, a frequently used tiebreaking system for round-robin tournaments.

And about soccer:
In case of tie after overtime the points are 3:2 for the player who shoot last goal. If score was 0:0 both players get 2 point.
I hope I'm right.

What happens in an mc-tournament if the top players (two or more) have the same number of points AND the same "son"?

They will all advance to next round.

If you draw with a player with n points, your "son" will increase by n points (rather than 2n points if you had won, since a draw gives you 1 point). But in the example, you are sure to be the winner of the tournament. The only one who can get as many points as you is dogdog, and if he does win his remaining match, you will get the same "son" and share the first place (you both get 1 * 7 "son" points from your draw and 2 * 6 (presumably) from beating the others). I'm not sure what you mean by "a better player" - only the performance in the particular tournament counts.

But he already has 15 SON, and one more game to win..
And me just 13 SON..
Or his "SON" will reduce after ??!!
P.S. "Better player": I mean player with "more" rating..

His "son" is higher for the moment because he drew to a player with a high score (you) while you drew to a player with a lower score (him). The player he is not finished against does not have points yet, so your win against that guy doesn't help your "son" (yet). If and when dogdog wins, your "son" will increase because you drew to him and his score increases. His will not increase so they will be equal. And then they will increase simultaneously when the other players start to score points against each other.

The SON has only to do with the tournament not with the rating (if a player with rating 1907 loses all games in a tournament you won't get a SON-point from him, while in the same tournament if you win from a player with 2 victories you get 2x4 = 8 SON (For Soccer it is much more due to the point system))
If that player wins another match after you beated him, that also (ofcourse) counts for his SON.
It should be clear if you just take a tournament table and try to look if you understand the SON of evert one (except if only a few games are played :-) )
