One player currently has more than 215 running (soccer) games in progress. Sometimes I'd like a chance to play a tourney in which she doesn't participate.

How about a rule that someone can't register for a new tournament himself, if he already has more than 100 or 50 games of a particular game like soccer in progress?

(Exception of course qualification for 2nd, 3rd, 4th round of monthly cups and championships.)

Why would you want to see limits on the number of tournements a player can compete in, as long as the player can maintain to move at a reasonable pace in the games he/she is playing in then what is the problem.

I know a few people who I chat to on here who play a lot of games, but I find it fun to play the same person often rather than play someone once then never again.

Frank, I know of two players here at least who have over 120 games of soccer in progress at the moment, one of them has entered over 80 tournements the other has well over 100 tournement entries in street soccer, neither of these players stops anyone else competing, they both help create more tournements creating more games and more fun for everyone, the only way that I could see wherethere would be a problem is if either these players were winning every tournement they were entering or if they were moving slowly and preventing tournies finishing, as far as I can see these playersdo not dominate every tournement and they nmove faster than most players on here.

One of the best things about Little Golem is that there are no limits! I'de say: let's keep it that way!

I often play a player that has many games, but I don't mind it, since he plays fast. What exactly is your problem with that player? Is he slow? Is he rude to you, and it's that why you don't want to play him?

I too agree not to use any limits. This has been one of the big advantages of this site.

At the same time I see Frank's point that it would be nice if some players "hold back" a little and allow some tournaments to start without them. It would I think give some more variation. However this should be left to the individual players to deside.

I would also like to say that it might be a good idea if the players with many games would consider becoming members of the site and support it for the entertainment that is providing them!

Just had a quick look at the last 6 groups to be formed, I make it taht there are 22 different players in those 6 groups, even if one of two names crop up fairly often, there are still a lot of different players to compete against.

1) My main concern is that 100+ tournaments need a long time to time out, if _one_ player leaves LG ! (E.g. in case he can't pay his bill anymore.) This 'd annoy a lot of opponents.

2) @klaashaas:

No, I don't have a personal dispute with a player; and most players with many games are playing very fast indeed. :)

3) I assume that with 100+ games one will almost always have a game where it is his turn. So why there is a need to register for a new tourney?

4) One can ruin himself if he is excessively game addicted and spends the whole day (or social life) at LG.

5) Server load ...

I do agree that some people do enter far too many tournaments at the same time, this gives newer players less chance to play with people of there own raiting than being out against the highly rated players and loosing all the time. I don't think it should be limited to the number of games you can play on the site but maybe limit the amount of tournaments you can enter at one time. As it would seem that some people spend there whole life on here playing games. This is meant to be a bit of fun playing games. I think some people take this far to seriously.

Having to wait ages for a tournement to start, is what puts off a lot of people on this site, I do agree taht some people seem to play a lot of games on the site, however they are getting tournements moving, and promoting an energitic and fast developing site.

If you don't like playing someone, get a higher rating than them so that you don't have to play them ;-)

James that only works in Rating tournements, in monthly cups and championships, the rating of a player plays no part in if your are drawn against them or not.
