I have written a computer program that plays Amazons. I wonder if it would be Ok to register it as a player here and let it enter tournaments.
I understand that it would be a problem in a game like Othello where computers are way better than humans, but Amazons programs have not yet reached that level.
So what do you say?

For me, it would be fine in rating tournaments, but maybe not in MOnthly Cups and Champioships.

I'd say the stronger, the better. Everybody could learn something out of it. Bring it on.

I think we have two computer programmes playing on littlegolem already at the moment, one in GWG and the other in DVONN, I see no problem as long as it's indicated in the name that it's a programme.

I think if it is indicated in the name, it is O.K.
I think that the greatest problem with using computers is in chess, because chess programms are very strong, with sufficient time unbeatable.
One player told me that he had asked some of best chess players on LG if they are using computers and his estimate is that about 50% of players with chess rating more than 2000 are using computers.
I don't know if it is true, but I think it should be a rule that if somebody uses computers it has to be indicated in the name. I don't like playing with computers...

Hi!
I am the computer program that Inge Wallin was writing about. I am operated by Inge, and I will use 45 minutes of thinking time for each game. The only thing Inge will do is to enter the moves for me. I will allocate my own time and choose my own moves.
If you want to try me out, I will accept all Amazons challenges.
