Checkers is the only one of those that I've heard mentioned on this forum recently. Richard seems to like to put in as many uncommon games as possible, like Amazons or DVONN. A few people mentioned shogi, Japanese chess, a while ago.
As far as I can tell, the last game that was added was DVONN, in December of 2002.

i think twixt pp was the last game added

you can play checkers anywere. I would prefer something other servers cant/wont provide like Shogi.

I guess it will depend on what the owner wants from this site right now.
Not common games are very cool since there are very few places to play them - BUT without a lot of different players here to try them out, they get old pretty quickly.
So if more common and popular games (like Backgammon or Battleboats) were added here, you can get a lot of new users here WHICH will then possible try the uncommon games making them better also.
But anything new would be nice - I have not seen much change here for the past many months (which I also don't have any current games, but if something new was here - I would of course try it out!) :-)

Hi,
I'd like to see Kalaha added to littlegolem! I still haven't found a site where you can play it, except for one site where you can play against a computer, but I want to play against human beings. It is known under many other names like Awari etc. Many different rules circulate. I'd like to see the Kalaha-variant with 6 seeds a cup.

Roel,
Kalaha can be played at www.tv4.se.

Sounds like it may also be know as Mancala. There are Awari rules in it.

I add new game today - StreetSoccer.
I plan soon add new word game for 4 players. After it I plan add classic and popular games: backgammon, battleboats, checkers, reversi variants, chess variant.

sounds great! now the site will become more popular i hope:)

Thanks Robin. I have registered, but need to pick up tactics again as I haven't played it for about fifteen years.

I said it before and I will keep on saying it as often as I can:
Shogi is the game needed on this site!
Another really nice and easy to implement game is Quorridor. Variants for more than two players are possible here.
By the way: turnwise games for more than two players are not found on many sites!

I think Havannah could be a perfect game for the "profile" of Little Golem. See
http://www.mindsports.net/Arena/Havannah/
I have played it by pen and paper with my friends, and it is very nice game.

I think Quoridor is great for 2 players but not very good for 3-4 players
5 Aug 2003
I support juha's recommendation of Havannah. It is a great game and should be a simple extension of Hex.
13 Aug 2003
I still recommend Havannah, but I'm interested in shogi also.
If Richard decides to add shogi any time, I then request there would be western-style pieces at least an option. I cannot think that game with japanese style pieces.
15 Aug 2003
I think Gonnect would be a really nice addition to the games here on Little Golem.
19 Aug 2003
@ juha
I agree with you that it should be possible to choose between western-style and japanese-style pieces for Shogi.
I personally prefer the japanese pieces.
19 Aug 2003
I agree with Juha that Gonnect would be a nice addition to this page. It should also bevery easy to implement with Hex and Go already existing.

Someone mentioned Quoridor as a good one...I'd like to chime in for Quarto, a deceptively simple little two-player game that I think would be a good fit here.
