i have a game where my opponent is offering a draw every move in a position which is a straight forward loss to him. would it be possible to follow a FIDE style rule in all games where a second draw offer is disallowed unless the position changes materially?

Hey, aren't you the guy who asked for that draw offer in 4iar games?

Oh yeah, that WAS me, wasn't it. Well, you agreed, rather vehemently, if I recall.

Sure I did - now is a good time to return the favour :-)

ok, how's this?

Sorry! But I don't think this is a problem. You should don't accept the draw and follow the game until he quits or lost definitly. This is only a game and you shouldn't stress with this person. I bet he's laughing about you and your big trouble.

not a problem, more of an irritation ... i have heard some people aren't too careful and inadvertently accept draw offers when they really didn't mean to!

But you'd never do that (inadvertantly accept a draw offer when you didn't really mean to) would you, McStack? LOL

I think there's another rule which might be easier to implement: no more than 3 draw offers for an opponent at a game. That would lower the chances of accidentally hiting the Accept Draw option. And it's actually used if I am not wrong.

I think such rules are artificial and not really necessary. One may just ignore the offer, or if (s)he accepts by accident, it's her own fault.
One could also make a bad move by accident, this is the same problem, and it can be avoided only by being careful.
