table readability

The tables with tournament games, e. g. on
this page
are not well readable, the columns are spread out and the lines are not marked.
The common way to solve this is to mark the lines with two different background colours, alternatingly.
(BTW, I think it would be even better to mark two consecutive rows with one colour, then the next two with the other colour. The distance of two similar marked rows is then four instead of two)

Maybe every 4th row or colomn with an alternate background colour (yellow {luminance=0.9278})
