Among the many pleasant bugs that make this site so alive, there is one that I find a little annoying: When following the link in the end of game notification in the message section, I am suddenly logged out. This prevents me from seeing the polite congratulations of my opponents (no insults here so different from other platforms).

I figured the following:

  • Navigating back logs me in again. Good no need to type that password again and again!
  • Opening any current game and replacing the finished game number in the URL adress displays the finished game correcty. Nice I can answer greetings!
  • The difference between both url is an outdated "www" in front of the domain.
  • It seems the session's cookie is not valid with the altered FQDN. Either my navigators is too restrictive or the design of littlegolem.

This bug could be very easily corrected by Richard, changing the URL generation in messages.

Meanwhile here is my userside solution I finally implemented yesterday:

Automatic redirection of the unwanted adress. Many extensions do that sort of things. I used Einar Egilsson's Redirector because it doesn't look like it wants to do anything else than the expected (no marketing and no company interests)

**Here are my settings: **

littlegolem corrector

Redirect:

https://www.littlegolem.net/*

to:

https://littlegolem.net/$1

Hint:

Removes excess www. from some littlegolem URLs

Example:

https://www.littlegolem.net/jsp/game/game.jsp?gid=gamenumber

https://littlegolem.net/jsp/game/game.jsp?gid=gamenumber

Applies to:

Main window (address bar)

Good games to all!

Strange, I follow the game link on that message all the time and never encountered your problem.

Even stranger I have that bug even on my Android phone.
It is probably linked either to my use of a privacy extensions... or maybe with my default treatment of cookies.

I use the standard cookie protection of mozilla. Maybe this is enough to block access to my cookies from www.littlegolem.net instead of littlegolem.net.

Also I use the very basic pseudo+password authentification (not linked to any google or facebook account), that might also make a difference.
