Some information about bots

• The list of bots is at https://www.littlegolem.net/jsp/bots/index.jsp
  
• For now, you can play with them unlimited.
  
• Bots automatically play ladder tournament to get some real rating. This tournament play is time-limited (50 games) and is also rating-limited. If a bot gets a given rating, it leaves the ladder.
  
• Bots for go have limited power similar to what is in the Katrain app.
  
• Games in go with bots are automatically rated and terminated after two consecutive passes. If this proves to be successful it could then be used in all go games.
  
• I assume that bots will be created for more or less all types of games.

I believe players should be able to insta-quit out of bot games in the ladder without losing position. I just don't come to sites like these to play against bots, but I may be in the minority.

What does it take to add a bot to other games here?

My primary games are Catchup and Connect6, so I'm most interested in facing bots for those (especially Connect6).

In principle I agree (though I don't mind personally). Note that this is just for a restricted time though.

Richard, does it really take up to 50 games? If you start with an estimated rating, it might be much quicker I would guess.

@richyfourtytwo You are true. 20 games will be enough.

I've played with a few go bots now in the ladders, I must say I largely enjoyed it. They are not of superhuman strength - but I only won once so far. Generally the way they are weakened (whatever that is in detail) seems to work ok, I only saw one obvious problem: in the endgame they tend to pass sometimes before the game is over. Should be straightforward to check for that I guess.

Does (will) the bot have any mark that it is not a live player?
