Waiting Room: Missing Button?

Public forum discussion.

Hello,

For some reason, I can't figure out how the waiting room works. I read this FAQ, where it states, "If you see an unrated game you'd like to play, click the word ACCEPT next to the player's name."

However, when I go to the waiting room, I don't see an 'ACCEPT' button. Moreover, clicking 'Register' only allows me to add my name to the Waiting Room list. I assume I'm missing something, but I'm not sure what. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I attempted to add a screenshot to the first post, but I didn't work. I hope this screenshot is visible.

I see the same behavior.  I vaguely seem to recall that you used to be able to choose your opponents, but that now it pairs people automatically from the list.

Someone who's used the feature recently should probably chime in, but I figure any answer is better than no answer....

When I last registered it started after a while. I think it tries to pair opponents where rating is close enough. "Close enough" is something you can set when registring.

@testingqwerty  what William said. That used to be the case (to be able to accept a game against a specific opponent) but not any more. This was changed many years ago, due to some rating manipulations by some if I remember well.

The FAQ needs updating in that part.

In waiting room now, you can register (for 1, 5 or 10+ games) and you are automatically paired (after some time) with one or more opponents.

Thanks for asking this.  I thought I must be thick.
