Good morning all.

I’m aiming as soon as possible to re-enter the nestorbooster arena on behalf of my other game, Trig, whose availability to a wider world is long overdue.  But since I can’t afford to underwrite this project on my own, I’m appealing for advance orders from AbStrat enthusiasts to help bring it to fruition.

Trig (about which more may be read on its BoardGameGeek page) has existed unpublished for twenty years, the root game in a suite of three collectively entitled The Summer-House Floor.  It has been shrewdly described (by me just now, if you’re asking) as the nasty young nephew of Havannah – the uncle it never knew it had.  Which is to say that it shares certain formal attributes with Christian Freeling’s creation, whilst diverging more or less totally in terms of feel.  Strictly speaking a placement game of connection, it breaks free of the shackles of inertia, like Corey Clark’s excellent Slither, through the effects of a single extra mechanism which makes all the difference.  In Trig’s case, this is the principle of remote custodial capture, already perhaps familiar from Morelli, but here pushed to the very limit.  Gameplay is fast, tense and original – a dogfight from the word go, and less and less manageable with every move until in the end something snaps.  It can be drawn, but never has been.  Even Havannah, they tell me, can’t quite claim that.

If you’re willing to commit yourself to a purchase in advance, please personal-mail me to tell me so.  I guarantee that the cost of a set will not in any event exceed €35 shipped (less, for many destinations).  You will pay nothing until manufacture has actually taken place, which should be within two months of the required twenty promises being received.  And please be aware that the quality of the product will be right up to néstor’s usual standard, as well as coming to you with the 15% discount (factored into the price quoted above) which I am passing on in its entirety.

I look forward to hearing from you.

If Néstor will make such a beautiful product as this one, I will definitely buy one...

If it is a plastic one, I will also consider it.

Sorry to disappoint you, Carroll :)  The version shown here is one of a very small number made for me by a Design Technology colleague.  Our esteemed leader - the *other* Richard M - posted this on BGG after I sent him a set with the aim of bribing him into implementing Trig on LG, where I'm sure its rapidity and aggression would make it very popular.  (He has remained incorruptible so far, but I continue to live in hope.)  If I were to commission one like this for you, I'm pretty sure the price would exceed what you would care to pay.

But to return to the nestorgames project.   Assuming that support makes it viable, it will be in Néstor's  standard format: roll-up mat, reversible acrylic pieces, cotton case.  Convenient, no-nonsense, solid quality.

Yes in the meantime, both Richards M, it would be nice to play it here on LG.

I'm willing to code it if you lack time, please PM me if interested. Maybe we could play it on this nice wooden board if you still have some good photos of it...

Very generous, Carroll.  Merci du fond du coeur!  How about it, Richard?

As regards the pictured piece shapes, however...  Although a brilliant visual concept on the part of my colleague, they actually make the game harder to play.  Those all-important triangles are definitely easiest to see if you use small, round pieces.
