Thanks for the info! I am seriously considering going this year. When is the registration deadline?

I think that so far no concrete deadline has been published. Anyhow, early registration helps the organizers.
In which games do you intend to participate? (The reason for this question is that the Olympiad is a rather personal affair. A game will be played only if there are at least two competitors. In certain cases at least three competitiors are required when more than a Gold medal will be awarded.)

Amazons, at least. I'll also look at the other games and see whether I want to try any of them.

Amazons is indeed one of the most interesting games in the Olympiads.
Feel free to contact wanderer_bot. Its author, Richard Lorentz, is also involved in computer Amazons and may give you some hints.

Hi,
we are approaching the Computer Olympiads, to start in Leiden (NL) on June 27. Strong competitors have entered for Amazons and Breakthrough (4 bots each). A highlight will be Draughts (on 10x10 board) with 10 teams participating. "EInStein wurfelt nicht" will see seven starters: on each from the US, China, Japan, and Germany (team "Hanfried" from Jena, title defender) - and three from Taiwan. This year there even were National EWN computer Championships in Taiwan.
Of course, also classics like Chess, Go, and Hex will be played. And surprise: There is also an Othello competition with three bots to start. (Altogether 26 different games are announced.)
Feel free to visit the event. It is on Leiden University Campus, in the Snellius building (right wing, ground floor).

Hi Ingo,
I am not sure if I can attend, too much work to do on our house :(.
Is there a program which games are played what day and time?
Regards, Paul

There is a tentative program (that is probably pretty close to how things will actually happen) in a pdf file, but I'm not sure the easiest way to make it publicly available. Suggestions welcome.

I could do it selectively, but it would be nice to make all 25 pages available.

Sorry, I had not been looking here for some days.
One piece of information: Ewn will definitely start on Monday already, and likely for more than one hour. We have seven teams; each pairing will have 8 games. Winner of the tournament will be the program with the largest number of wins in total.

Although I can't make it to the tournament, I'd be very interested to hear what happened in the dots and boxes games (June 30th) and the Hex games (27-28/6 and 1-2/7). Perhaps the best place to put any information like this would be in the dots and boxes / hex forum. I wonder if William Frazer managed to get his database back into shape?

Yes, it finished rebuilding (in mid-May, I think).

Can we find the results somewhere?
I'm curious how these 3 Othello programs would compare against the ancients like zebra, logistello, hannibal, ntest, saio etc...
What tournament format was used for Othello?

In total it was a phantastic event, both the Olympiad and the conference (Computers and Games 2016).
PArticipants of the Othello competition should report by themselves.

Apparently, TheShark was undefeated at Dots and Boxes. I don't have many details, yet, though.....
