Newbie question about the Waiting Room

How do I play a game in the waiting room?  The FAQ says that I can "accept a rated [or] unrated challenge from someone in the Waiting Room", and the wonderful expanded FAQ by Ed Collins, http://www.littlegolem.net/jsp/forum/topic2.jsp?forum=1&topic=1625, expands this slightly:

"If you're interested in playing a single game you can post a request for a game, or respond to someone else's request for a game, in the Waiting Room.  The Waiting Room consists of both rated and unrated games.

If you see an unrated game you'd like to play, click the word ACCEPT next to the player's name.  If you'd like to post your own request for a game, click the ADD link in the far right column.  If you post a game to the waiting room and wish to remove it, click the REMOVE link next to your request."

I don't see an "ACCEPT" next to any names.  Is the problem that I'm new to the site, so I can't accept challenges that ask for higher rated players? Or is it that only unrated games can be accepted (the linked FAQ seems to indicate this)?  Or is this a bug?  I've tried in both Chrome and Firefox to no avail.

I've made my own postings to the Waiting Room, and people have apparently accepted them, because I've been playing people, but I feel like I'm definitely missing something.

In the "Waiting Room" ACCEPT is not yet there, perhaps some day soon..

To send challenge, copy user name; go to "Players" section, paste user name, submit; click on (found) user name, and send invitation.

unrated games seem to have disappeared in the revision for tablets
