Possibility to chose between Old and New Design?

Public forum discussion.

Is it feasible, easy to provide a link to the users with the old design?

Is it too big, then does someone have a server that could handle this (not replicatin the database, although maybe that would be fine)?

Please express your opinion on the topic if you would like to continue to use the old one, for how long?

Also we could make a list of mandatory features:

- possibility to not use javascript

- possibility to edit your posts

- print games

- ...

Old one. For ever. Which won't be very long, given that Richard's just made things even worse.

Being able to choose the nice functional old user interface would be very nice indeed. Especially as Dots and Boxes is very hard to see with the misdrawn very fat and very thin lines, and Shogi has all the captured pieces in the same upper left part of the board so you can't see who owns what nor select them.

Please fix! :(

I really appreciate that Richards puts time and effort into trying to improve this site, but I, too, definitely preferred the old design. I understand that most of the bugs are due to the design still being sorta "beta", and will be fixed, but still. LG is my home on the net, and it feels like someone just redecorated and repainted my home in a rather strange fashion...

The "New Design" topic does not show the text of the last few entries!?

It seems like FatPhil somehow managed to "hijack" the thread, so that from now, only his posts are showing (after his last post). Probably not deliberately, though. Anyhow, that is definitely a bug that needs fixing.

No I don't think this has to do with javascript.

It is a by-effect of html syntax ill-interpreted in the GreaseMonkey scripts he provided.

All I posted was ASCII text, and the only embedded HTML entity was <.

The Textile library munged with it a bit, but it doesn't look like it's dont anything significant.

If that breaks the forums, then the forum's already broken.

It wasn't deliberate. If you hadn't noticed, I was trying to help...
