Hi all!

I've created a new board for LOA (similar to TwixtCommentator or trmph.com). Here is the screenshot:

Here is the link to analyze the game from the screenshot:
Game 1610847

In order to analyze your own game, just substitute a numerical game identifier with your own, i.e.
http://horna.org.ua/lg/your_game_id

Note that only 8x8 games are supported now (unfortunately, LOA variant is not included in PGN file generated for the game, so I'll need to parse the variant from HTML page or ask Richard to add variant as tag in PGN file generated by LittleGolem).

The code of the project is available on GitHub:
https://github.com/sphynx/loa-board

I've also posted some information about the project on LOA forum: http://littlegolem.net/jsp/forum/topic2.jsp?forum=130&topic=74

but probably it's better to put it in the General section as well, since it gets more attention.

Any feedback is appreciated.

All the best,
Ivan.

Very nice, thanks! A definite must for LG.

Neat! It works smoothly on a touchscreen. I also like the subtle animation when a piece is selected.

Thanks for kind words!

LG people have already found a bug, ("resign" move has not been properly handled), but now it's fixed.

When the code is polished/tested enough I'm going to ask Richard to add a link to my board, so that we can go and analyze straight from the game page (as with Twixt Commentator and trmph.com).

I'm glad you appreciated the visual appearance and animation, I'm not a designer, but I tried hard to make it look neat :)

Thanks!

I’ve also added keyboard shortcuts to improve navigation.

In the main line:

"left" - "one move back"
"right" - "one move forward"
"up" - "go to the first move"
"down" - "go to the last move"

In variation line:

"left" - "take back the last variation move" (this basically removes the last variation move).

Please let me know if you can think of any other useful keybindings.

Just sent a message to Richard asking to integrate it into LG :) I hope he will like the tool too.

There is one small bug:

When you come back to a white move and issue a black variation, using left arrow to take back last black variation, you are not on white move but on the next black move.

Well done Ivan.

Hope Richard will add it to LG.

Carroll: thanks for letting me know, I've fixed the bug.

VSapristi: thanks you, that would be great :)

Breaking news :) I've finally added all LOA variants support, so now it is possible to analyse any LG game, including championship games (in BlackHole variant). Enjoy!

Hi Ivan,

Thanks for the LOA position analyzer! This will be very helpful! One suggestion: The Hex community has benefited a lot from TRMPH's ability to create links to game positions. For example, http://www.trmph.com/hex/board#13,b2e6c6f7j6i10k10k12j12k9g9f4

I don't know how hard this feature would be to add to your code, but it would be very helpful to the community. Also -- Being able to link directly to an image of a position has been helpful from time to time. For example, http://www.trmph.com/diagram/1,hex,13,b2e6c6f7j6i10k10k12j12k9g9f4,-1

Great work! You've made a useful tool. These are just minor improvements, that I believe the community would appreciate.

Hi pgadey,

Thanks for support! I like your idea and it's not too hard to implement, so I will try to do this it once I am back from vacation.

Ivan.
