It is finally official; the head of the Roman Church is a hypocrite i.e., a Jesuit.

Great news for Atheists worldwide, which was precisely our point.

If you don't believe it, check the dictionary:

In English: Jesuit

1. a member of a Roman Catholic religious order (Society of Jesus) ...
2. ( often lowercase ) a crafty, intriguing, or equivocating person: so called in allusion to the methods ascribed to the order by its opponents.

In Spanish: Jesuita

1. adj. Se dice del religioso de la Compañía de Jesús, ...
2. adj. coloq. Hipócrita, taimado.

In French: Jésuite

A. − Subst. masc.

In Italian: gesuita [ge-su-ì-ta] s.m. (pl. -ti)

1 Religioso membro della compagnia di Gesù
2 (anche f.) In senso spreg., persona ipocrita e di opportunistica cautela: modi da g.

It works in every language because it is true. After 500 years Jesuits have earned a reputation to be a bunch of intriguing hypocrites.

Again, good news for Atheists.

I'm not an atheist but I can't see why this the election of this (or any) pope is either good or bad news to them.

I wrote this yesterday before I had even read that he was accused in the treason that resulted in the kidnapping and torture of two priests Francisco Jalics y Orlandio Yorio during the Argentinean military dictatorship and accused by the Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo of being involved in stealing babies born in detention centers.

This may or may not be true, but what is beyond any reasonable doubt is that he increased his power during the dictatorship by shaking the hands and tapping the shoulders of the criminals and never emitted the slightest critic about the kidnapping, torture and assassination of tenths of thousands of political opponents for the only "crime" of wanting a different regime. He simply looked away.

If that does not loath decent Catholics, I don't know what can. Historically, the hypocrisy and intrigues of the Roman Church has been the reason behind each schism.

The worst for the Roman Church, the best for: human rights, common sense, prevention of STD, women rights, gay rights, ... and Atheism.

Let erratic speak his mind. LG migh not be the best place, but I don't think he attacks the people, only the church.

Besides, there are christian people who do not give a damn about the pope. For example the Romanians. I, myself, have similar issues with our national Orthodox Church, they collaborated with the Securitate during the communist years. Now they are pushing hard to introduce Orthodox religion in schools and are part of the political corruption (getting very, very rich).

The faith of people is one thing, the organised body of the church is another.

@ypercube: I also never got a clue why anything in the church (and specially, apparantly the catholic church) has anything in interest for atheist.

Hypocrite (or maybe ypocrite acording to ypercube's spelling) is litterely: 'having not enough opinion(, 'being sub-critical'

An example of hypocrites might be the Jesuits that lived during the spanish inquisition.

Another example of hypocrites I will explain below.

Suppose you have your child is baptized within the catholic church.
Suppose hard live, and scandals in the church and pseudoscientific* arguments and so on have made you believe there is no God.
Would you unbaptize your child?

Apparently some people answer yes to the latter question and that is clearly hypocrite: if you believe there is no God, then the baptism with holy water was nothing more than a person (NOT replacing GOD) throwing a bit of water (and oil) on your child years ago.

*as far as I know there is now scientific proof anywhere for the non-existence of GOD.

#10 · Carroll

now or no...

Pierre Theilard de Chardin was a Jesuit and a respectable person.

The new pope has some scientific background as he studied chemistry, there may be a lot of presence of God there if you look closely enough in the subatomic world... a God that will play EwN well obviously.

There is a general commandment: “Be holy for I the L-rd your G-d am holy” (Leviticus 19:1). Thou shall not lie with a man after the manner of a woman; it is an abomination (Leviticus, 18:22). Defile not yourselves with any of these things; for in all of these, the gentiles which I cast out before you were defiled, and the land was defiled; therefore I do punish its iniquity upon it, and the Land of Israel vomits out its inhabitants... For whoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the persons who commit them shall be cut off from among their people. Therefore you shall keep my laws, that you commit not any one of these abominable doings which were practiced before you, and that you defile not yourselves in them; I am the L-rd your G-d” (leviticos AS Bib 18:22-30). And while the term abomination is certainly a harsh condemnation, other sins are also referred to as abominations, for instance adultery, and the eating of creatures which creep on the earth. Like pigs. Thus while homosexual acts have terrible personal, social, and spiritual consequences, a homosexual need not be put under a communal ban, or be denied entry to the synagogue, or even be denied the privilege of being called up to the Torah. Certainly homosexual behavior must be rejected and scorned in no uncertain terms, but it is wise to keep in mind that when Avraham prayed to spare the city of Sodom from destruction, homosexuals were also included in his plea for mercy. Homexesualism are not holy and should be avoided. Thus, the Old testment states: “Thou shall not lie with a man after the manner of a woman, it is an abomination. Neither shall lie with any beast to defile thyself with it; neither shall a woman stand before a beast to lie down before it, it is a perversion. “David et Jonathan” are not homosexuals!!

I am an atheist and I think the selection of a Latin American Jesuit IS good news. And not because Jesuits are "hypocrites" that will somehow corrupt and weaken the Catholic Church (which seems to be the point that erratic was trying to make). I have known several Jesuit priests and they have all been exceptional people who promoted education, service, and tolerance.

Even though Francis appears to be pretty conservative on a lot of issues, his humility and stance on poverty are steps in the right direction. His election also breaks some barriers and opens the door for future movement on issues like liberation theology, homosexuality, and contraception.

"Why should atheists care about the election of the Pope?" Do Greeks follow who is elected President of the US? We have certainly been hearing a lot about Greek politics over here lately! Do any of you care about, say, the possible detection of the Higgs boson? Are you all physicists? What about Yahoo's new policy on working from home? I don't work at Yahoo, but I'm certainly interested.

To one degree or another everything is connected, and the election of the Pope does bear on my daily life. And even if it didn't, whatever happened to good old fashioned intellectual curiosity?!

When I have asked Christians what it means to have this ““personal relationship”” they are forced to concede that it is not REALLY a personal relationship in the way we would have one with a real live and interactive person. Most who say ““he walks with me and he talks with me”” will admit that they never actually ““hear”” anything from Jesus at all. I have asked some of these people who ““talk with Jesus”” to ask him something for me and bring back the answer. They say they will, and then I never hear from them again. If I have a personal relationship with someone, I can ask them what their favorite color is and they will answer me, and then give the same answer to anyone who asks. The three persons of the trinity do not appear capable of being consistent with those whom they have ““personal relationships”” with, to the extent of telling one person one thing and another person the complete opposite. But you are right, I do not accept that a human sacrifice can atone for yours or mine sins, nor that God ever asked for one. I think the important message here is not whether one should believe or disbelieve, but to make that decision for yourself. Essentially, I know plenty of intellecutals who lack perspective and dont believe in religion because that is what people who ““think”” do. Unfortunately, these people are just as bad as the die-hard evangalist’’s. Personally, I’’m not interested in trying to save or covert anyone; however, if I can make someone think and use his/her brain, I will be satisfied. CHECK-MATE!! The above image depicts the ““Witch's Kiss.”” It was believe that part of the rite of becoming a witch in Satan’’s service involved kissing Satan’’s rear. It should be remembered that insofar as there existed anyone who practiced the healing and divination techniques of older pagan traditions, they wouldn’’t have had anything to do with Satan. After all, Satan is a creation of Christianity and monotheistic traditions. Any ““witches”” who existed were pantheists or polytheists and wouldn’’t have believed in a Satan.

Why are you catholic?, not why do you believe in yahweh!
What if you have chosen the wrong religion? Aren’’t you worried that you will be tortured for eternity if you are wrong?

Given the continuous carnal lust obsession and perversion of the ““celibate”” Catholic priesthood, one has to ask whether this treatise on Witches copulating with Devils is more the product of a ““sex-starved clergy”” than as a result of reality? You stand before the Spanish Inquisition, tattered and worn. You have been accused of renouncing your Christian faith, and for that crime, you will be forced to endure the painful torture of the Heretics Fork. You are familiar with this torture, as you have seen others before you paraded through your village adorning the horrific device. Only now, it is your turn. You can only abide in horror as the instrument, two prongs at either end, is securely fastened around your neck by a collar, ensuring it will remain in place. One end of the fork is jammed deeply into your sternum bone, causing excruciating pain, while the sharp tines opposite are pressed into the tender, fleshy underside of your chin. The pain is unimaginable, and you feel yourself growing faint as warm blood trickles down your neck onto your chest and shoulders. Maybe it was a dream that Jesus came to you in LG? Or maybe it was the Flying Spagetti Cookie Corrupt Monster in disguise: Mr. Naked Pope...Why are her features classically caucasian as in a Greek sculpture? Why not african, asian, semitic, or other worldly? Is it because as a caucasian, this is my subconscious standard of beauty? I definitely have appreciated some beautiful africans, asians, etc...Maybe you should ask yourself why you are catholic, even IF I were willing to grant that a deity or deities exist, why be catholic? There are thousands of religions with angry jealous gods just waiting to torment you in you in the so called afterlife if you fail to acknowledge them or live life in the correct way.

Take kingofthebes I ’’s advice and use your brain to think rather than blindly accepting everything the church and vatican does is right!

The news has been relentlessly bad for the Pope. Two weeks ago, Germany was scandalized by revelations that a pedophile priest was allowed to work again with children after being transferred in 1980 to the Archdiocese of Munich, which was then headed by the future Pontiff. Over the weekend, an apology the Pope issued for sexual abuse by Irish priests was deemed insufficient by many of the victims....

This is the true face of the Roman Catholic Church, the church that ““never changes””.
ROME’’S VENERATION OF THE VIRGIN MARY IS SIMPLY A CONTINUATION OF THE WORSHIP OF THE VIRGIN MOTHER –– DIVINE CHILD IN THE PAGAN SUN GOD TRADITION!

Subtitle: While Catholics believe they are venerating the Virgin Mary and Divine Child Jesus in the Biblical tradition, the evidence is overwhelming that they are really continuing the Egyptian and Babylonian pagan tradition of worshipping the Sun Goddess and her Divine Son. Once more, Roman Catholicism is shown to be counterfeit Christianity on the surface but Sun God paganism throughout underneath! These include defiling the Eucharist, which Catholics believe is the body and blood of Christ. Stafford said this offense is occurring with more and more frequency, not just in satanic rites but by ordinary faithful who receive Communion and then remove the host from their mouths and spit it out or otherwise desecrate it. The followers of Christ were characterized by not minding his cannibalistic tendencies, the ‘‘beloved’’ John, implicitly recognizes. Cannibalism, symbolic or not, became a Christian’’s definition. Saint Cyril, Anasthasius, and company, accepted cannibalism. No doubt it encouraged them to spill the blood, and tear the flesh, of those thousands who denied them. When you follow a cannibal, you tear and share human flesh. CANNIBALS AND CHRIST ALIKE CALL FLESH MEAT. How metaphorical is that?

The Vatican has billions that came from the Nazi coffers as these Jewish Holocaust survivors are demanding from the Vatican Bank in a lawsuit based in San Francisco-
http://www.vaticanbankclaims.com/home.html

I think the Catholic Church in a decline like the depression. They don’’t deserve the credit they claim to be representative of God. They don’’t have exclusivity to God. Indeed the Vatican has behaved brutally throughout history. Furthermore, as a nation, the Vatican, own lots of property in America, all without paying taxes. TAX them. It is just another of the false communist religions of the world that has had power and abused it. What is wrong with having one’’s own faith and one’’s own culture? Leave the people alone. When is it time to stop killing in the name of ““God””? How many have died due to religious fanatics efforts to impose their God, their culture upon others? How can religion be a mission of Peace when torture, persecution and execution are the tools of the trade?

Why haven’’t Roman Catholics noticed what God says? NO IDOLS! NO IMAGES!

This means: AT ALL TIMES! No ““RELIGIOUS”” usage of statues or likenesses of anything!

NONE, WHATSOEVER! What could be simpler or easier to comprehend? ...to be the first spotted to have spin zero!!

Vatican: An apostolic “inspection” visit to Puerto Rico

The Vatican has ordered an apostolic visit for the Archdiocese of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

An extensive and in-depth inquiry, which has already caused controversy in the country.

Holy See authorities want to confirm whether some of the accusations made against Archbishop Roberto Gonzalez Nieves are true, especially with regards to the alleged mismanagement of the ministry.

But the Puerto Rican faithful are willing to defend their pastor.
The Congregation for the Clergy of the Holy See ordered the visit and, as indicated by the same Gonzalez Nieves, the apostolic visitor will be the Archbishop of Guayaquil (Ecuador), Antonio Arregui Yarza.

The prelate began his investigation on 25 October with a series of interviews.
The archdiocese would like to thank the Holy See and, in particular, the Congregation for the Clergy, for its attention to this local Church. At the same time, it invites all the Catholic faithful: priests, religious and lays, to accompany the outcome of the apostolic visit with their prayers. Since this is an internal process of the Church, this servant will not make any additional statements in this regard, he remarked in a note.

According to press reports, investigations have begun for a presumed political interventionism of Archbishop Gonzalez, who would have made the mistake of mounting an altar of the fatherland which boasted the flag of Puerto Rico.

The story is not irrelevant, because the issue of national sovereignty divides the population of this country which is, in fact, a U.S. protectorate.

But the issue is far more complex than this. The Vatican Insider has confirmed that the apostolic visit was born after a series of complaints about alleged mismanagement of the ministry, which would involve some unclear economic movements, improper attitudes by diocesan clergy and some cases of abuse against minors.

05/05/2013] Less than two months after being elected, Pope Francisco located between his hands a serious conflict, causing a high voltage between the Holy See and the Church of Puerto Rico. The headache for the Argentine Jorge Bergoglio, first Latin American pontiff in the history of the Church, is the likely dismissal from his post of Archbishop of San Juan de Puerto Rico of Monsignor Roberto González Nieves, 62, who refuses to give up his post despite several accusations, including the of protected pedophile priests.

Francisco encountered a scandal that was already in full development on March 13, when the Conclave consecrated him Pope. On 15 December, Monsignor González Nieves, who apparently has the support of the majority of the Puerto Rican bishops responded to the urgent call of the Vatican and met here with the prefect of the Congregation for bishops, the Canadian Marc Ouellet, who was one of the papabili in the Conclave.

A few months of taking office as Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church, the Pope Francisco is facing a serious conflict, the likely dismissal from his post of Archbishop of San Juan de Puerto Rico of Monsignor Roberto González Nieves, 62, who refuses to give up his post despite several accusations, including the of protected pedophile priestssegiun public this Sunday the Argentine newspaper El Clarín.

IN THE FIRE OF THE "SANTA INQUISISION" WITH ALL THOSE SINNERS!AND IT IS NOT MOCKERY"OR DISSONANT WHISTLES OR PREJUDICES! IT IS, HAS CER EARTHLY JUSTICE.

WHAT HE HAVE TO DO DAD FRANCISCO IS: GIVE IT TO THE AUTHORITIES SO CONSIDER THIS "ARCHBISHOP" THEN THE WILL BE DOING REAL JUSTICE, !THE GOOD JUDGE BY YOUR own HOME BEGINS!

According to press reports, investigations have begun for a presumed “political interventionism” of Archbishop González, who would have made the mistake of mounting an “altar of the fatherland” which boasted the flag of Puerto Rico. He simply looked away. The story is not irrelevant, because the issue of national sovereignty divides the population of this country which is, in fact, a U.S. protectorate.

Great news for Atheists worldwide, which was precisely our point.

The situation is delicate, the accusations must be confirmed with facts otherwise they will be denied. This is what the visitor Arregui Yarza will be doing over the next few days. He will observe, ask, listen, and eventually write a confidential report that will be delivered to the Vatican, where a decision will be made, if necessary.

The work, however, will not be easy. In recent days, the operations center, the Parish of Santa Teresita (at Ocean Park), has received the demands of dozens of faithful who want to offer their testimony, almost all of which are in defense of the Archbishop of San Juan. Historically, the hypocrisy and intrigues of the Spain Roman Church Corruption has been the reason behind each schism. In addition, Gonzalez Nieves is willing to defend himself by arguing, among other things, that the cases of abuse identified in his ecclesiastical territory were duly reported to the Vatican and consideration was given according to the precepts of Canon Law.

Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina, the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, a Jesuit becomes pope Francis. Sure Satan will be delighted! It is for this reason that the enormous interest of the Apostolic Nuncio of the Dominican Republic and Apostolic Delegate to Puerto Rico, Jozef Wesolowski attracted so much attention both in Rome and in San Juan, that the visit would take place at all costs. Why have not Roman Catholics noticed what God says? NO IDOLS! NO IMAGES! This means: AT ALL TIMES! No religious usage of statues or likenesses of anything! NONE, WHATSOEVER! According to press reports, investigations have begun for a presumed “political interventionism” of Archbishop González, who would have made the mistake of mounting an “altar of the fatherland” which boasted the flag of Puerto Rico. What could be simpler or easier to comprehend? ...to be the first spotted to have spin zero!! According to the President of the Episcopal Conference of Puerto Rico and Bishop of Caguas, Ruben Antonio Gonzalez Medina, the visitor’s report will serve to offer, if required, “the guidelines to follow, clarifying those aspects that need further explanation.”

Exorcism or Homesexualism - fake or fiction?

#30 · Wakai Yushi

24 May 2013

The answer to this question is going to be long. I apologize a priori. I can’t shorten it but I will do my best to make it entertaining.

I will break down my answer in three parts.

In Part I1, I will show that exorcism is a sham and exorcists are con artists and swindlers. I will expose one of the most renowned charlatans in this field. You will then have no doubt that his man is lying.

In Part II, I will answer the million dollar question. Why sane people get sucked into this scam, behave like a loony and cooperate with the exorcist to deceive others. The answer to this question is an eye opener and unveils a fascinating and bizarre facet of our human psychology.

In Part III will talk about the danger of exorcism. This is not a harmless feel good exercise. It is a serious threat to the well-being and mental health of the victims. This demonic practice (pardon the pun) must be banned and the con artists practicing it must be exposed.

Is Exorcism Real?

I hope by now you are convinced that the belief in Satan, demons and demon possession is an insult to God’s sanity and omnipotence. Now let us explore whether exorcism is real and whether ghosts exist.

I have not seen an exorcism in live but there are plenty of videos on Youtube. Subjects behave as if they are demon possessed. Grownup people act like crazy. They shout, swear, throw themselves to the ground, make faces, curse, etc. If they are not possessed why would they do such thing? In this part we will see whether what they do is genuine or they are putting up an act. But first you need to watch this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uvU4f07sHE

What is really going on? If Jezebel is only a fiction why does Jenifer act in this way? Why she and other Larson’s subjects cooperate with him when apparently they are not paid actors and seem to be genuine? That is the million dollars question that I’ll answer in part ....

The YouTube video showing a 16-year-old being exorcised of ‘gay demons’ by a Connecticut congregation profoundly disturbed me. I respect people’s right to believe whatever they wish, but I take issue when they assault another human being based on their religious convictions. It makes me angry.

Can you imagine the humiliation of being singled out, accused of being possessed by a gay demon and then exorcised in front of a group of people at that age? Teenagers, as a group, are very sensitive to external perception. Having gay demons expelled might not lend itself to a healthy perceptive on homosexuality. The fact that an observer felt obliged to record the experience and upload it for the world to see does not fill my soul with respect and love for my species.
I am sure that many people that have heard this argument are saying things like "it's not the same thing" or "How can you even compare those to homosexuality?" I honestly find it very easy to compare being that these are all things that are equally bad in the words of the Bible. I do find it interesting that many people seem to pick and choose what is bad and not bad in the Bible and what can be sidestepped when so chosen. We are not supposed to wear the garments of the opposite sex yet it has become commonplace for women to wear clothes designed with men in mind. Keep in mind I don't care how people dress but I do care about hypocrisy. I do not write this to try to sway anyone in one direction or the other, just to hopefully make someone think for a moment,
