OSKI

I'm still trying to figure out the fine points of OSKI, and I can't find a good set of rules for it.
Question: It is the 2nd move of a game and the letters on the board are O I R T. The first word played was TRIO. I tried to play both SORT or PORT? Any idea why it wouldn't accept either one? It ended up accepting ROIL.

IMHO from the rules you can find here you should be able to play both PORT and SORT.
Also from the rules the first word should be a 3-letters word, any known change of the rules?

This comes up every couple of months. Mostly on Word Games sub forum, of course (somebodu please cry murder). The game starts with a three letter word (always in the the middle of the board and read left to right) that is automatically generated and unscored, but still counts as a played word. In your game, marcmandy, the automatically generated words was evidently ORT.
