= number of games per day which are completed * average length of such a game

who cares? :]

OK, that's the number that it actually processes, not what it can process.
I won't disclose my technique, as there's clear mathematical bogosity involved, but my conclusion is that in the first half of the year, the site processed about 9200 moves per day. So one every 9 seconds.
That surprises me, to be honest, I'd have thought the load would be much higher.

I would expect less because even playing during European daytime involves less moves than I would expect.

I would have guessed more than 9200 per day. Given that X amount of human players VS X amount of bots and X amount of games. Bots against bots can play X amount of moves nonstop 24/7. Look at how many 50 point matches of EWN have finished between bots, that's a huge amount of moves in a short amount of time.

Just for reference, during my sampling for the above statistic I didn't encounter a single RoRoRo game.

And many bots do not respond automatically.
