monthly championships

From FAQ we can read: Monthly Cup Tournaments will start approximately ten minutes after the fifth person signs up.

I think is not working in this way. Can anyone explain me how it works?

It will work soon again...

They, like most things about the site, are kicked off by an external daemon that occasionally dies, and doesn't automatically respawn. You might notice that some of your opponents have a negative amount of time left on their clock. The daemon is also responsible for recognising situations like that, and taking vacation days off players. You should notice all these things being corrected at the same time.

any one know when the monthly championships and time will be working again?

No. It will when Richard (Malaschitz) sees it and has the possibility to resurrect the daemon.

In the worst case he is somewhere hiking and unable to acces the server. He might be playing, but unable to get the daemon alive.

suggestions to alter this situation has been might in several topics (with typical titles as 'negative times' '-2 hours') but are never gotten programmed.

As some noted it couldn't be hard to make less daemon dependent.
