- rules like standard chess, but without king rule (king may be moved into check)
- there is a ball initially on e4 (or d4, d5 or e5).
- a sliding piece (rook, bishop, queen) may not leap over the ball
- if a piece moves onto the ball, the moving player kicks the ball in an orthogonal or diagonal direction any distance, but only over empty squares. The ball is kicked onto an empty square or to the square with the opponent's king, thereby capturing the king
- the goal is to capture the opponent's king, either by the ball or by a piece

So let it be posted. So let it be done.

Yes, but there are also big differences: pieces moving and kicking differently; pieces carry the ball; goals and goal-areas. Hanniball is more similar to real soccer.

The rules look a bit similar to that of SchachBall.
This is an old eaast-european board game for
two players, name best translated by "ChessBall".
It was mentionend in a book from the 1960's.
It is played on an 8x5 board.
Currently one of my students is analysing it.

And already I noticed a problem: a player may keep possession of the ball by kicking it somewhere in their own 'camp', where the opponent can't reach it. That player can occasionally threaten to use the ball in some way, having a persistent advantage.
This seems to be a general point for soccer-like games: it must not be too difficult to take the ball from the opponent.
Maybe a solution is: the ball may be kicked sidewards or forward only.
Where can the rules of SchachBall be found?
