Connect6 Analysis
  • fdsa at 2006-07-28

After trying to spread Connect6 across the internet, it seems that it has developed the most here. I will be participating in games and tournaments to analyze connect6 strategies and tactics (if there are any!). Thanks for introducing a great new game to everyone. I'll see you all in the game rooms!

As a new member, I am actually a little surprised by the asynchronous aspect of the games, but I can relate it to correspondence chess.

As a last note, I will be more active as I am conducting my research. I ask that anyone that has experience in the game (top players, both ranked and in tournaments) aid me in my analysis. What kind of strategies/tactics do you find most effective? etc.

    Good luck and have fun!

If you want to know C6 strategy look here http://connect6.org/connect6.html

As for me i have not red this material. To improve your game you can just see how top players are playing. What position you need to win, why it happens…

Just analyse, is it hard? Or you think that you can read somwhere something and you at once you will improve your skill and your rating will increase. If you are waiting someone will tell you how to become good player(how to move, defence, etc.) you on a wrong way!

Not really. It's about line patterns, i.e. basic concepts, not game strategy.

The fastest way to learn a strategy game is to play, study (top level) games and learn about strategy from strong players.

If you cannot explain strategy in Connect-6, is that because there is only tactics in the game, you're not interested in teaching or because you are a poor teacher?

I wanted to write a long article, but one sentence is enough - If you need a teacher to improve your skill in c6, it's unlikely you ever become top player.

    :(

    was a joke

    im just kidding andrey.

    sometimes i study the 1division.

    hey!

That could be very interesting to many readers of this forum.

    Agreed.

For most games the difference would be in how fast a talented player would become a (sub)top player. The faster learning process makes it more interesting. And there is another reason to share strategic insights: It makes being at LG even more interesting than it already was.
