I type in a greeting to begin a game and it's not showing up. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Using Edge Chromium on Win10.

Are you pressing Enter to send the message? With the recent change, messages are not sent with moves.

To elaborate on what psikonauta said, the easiest way to send a message is:

Type your message, then press “enter”, then make your move.

However, with the new system, you can also go back and send a message when it isn't your turn, so it's not too late!

It seems chat/message is now only possible on PC or laptop. Not on my smartphone, which I often use for EWN :-(

Hello, How do I change the country flag by my profile picture? When I tap the flag that’s been assigned to me it goes to a list of countries when I select the right one I can see it appear in a flash then it goes back to the old country that has been assigned to me indiscriminately. sheepdogg

What platform/browser are you using?

I am guessing you are on a mobile device, as your experience did not match mine.

On MacOS/Safari, on the “My Profile” page, it has a dropdown list of country names. When I select one and click “Submit” at the bottom of the page, it updates (although I did have to switch pages a few times before my browser noticed).

If you confirm what platform you are using, perhaps someone can try it out and offer more useful assistance….

I was thinking that the chat would return to smartphones after some minor changes, but seems that's not the case… I almost never notice new messages now, which I feel is unfortunate for both me and the opponent, and makes the platform feel a lot less interactive to use.

That being said, I'm guessing Richard has his hands full with the new version of the site, so I feel I can't complain either. Just wanted to share my feelings, as I'm curious if anyone else is going through a similar experience. :)
