Game #2056622

I know that my behavior was so bad in this game [game;id:2056622;move:29]

I know that x24 is not a valid move, so did I have to resign?, or it was my opponent responsibility to know the rules?

BTW, I won by resignation on move 44!

Thank you MisterCat for your detailed analysis. I found the line of playing x22 interesting!

But my main question here is about the ethics of winning a game like that!

Being White, I would have resigned instead of playing 29.w22. Black sure had to know the rules anyway.

The problem is that the implementation of the rules may be specific to a given website; thus it emphasizes that for clarity, the corners should be removed in the graphics!

There is variation in rules implementation among the servers, but I don't think any server allows play in corner holes, although they may display them.

Your opponent could have checked the legality of X24 by trying to play there. This server allows you to take back a move before you commit.

I could see myself playing out to the bitter end this way, with my high rating at stake. So I am in no position to judge.

I absolutely agree these holes should not be displayed.
