Yes, I hope Leoni and John return for some future cycle. I believe Leoni would return to first league due to his high rating, but John might have to wade through all the lower leagues again.

Leoni wouldn't return to the 1st league with the current rules as he has already played there.

There are exactly 4 levels (leagues) at this 7th championship. That is 15 groups of 9 people each, 135 players in total.

Hope that Leoni is sharpening his ax, but not storing away his sharp ax. :)

What exactly are the “current rules” for playing in the first league?

Normally one of the following:

- Top 5 in league 1 of the last championship

- Top 2 in one of the two groups in league 2 of the last championship

- Top 10 in the rating list AND never before played in league 1
