Given our modern understanding of the universe that there is no 'center', the idea of a center in chess can only be seen as a holdover from more ignorant times, propaganda used as a foundation to justify clinging to our arrogant anthropocentrism. For this reason as well, the center is best ignored or disparaged.
It's all a moot point, however, as the best attacks in Chess are not done with the pieces but delivered directly to the pieces, the board itself, and your opponent with whatever instruments are available–whether hands, chairs, or even merely a sharp tongue and quick wit.
