Does anyone know the formula? For example, in the tournament link below, why did Hjalti get the 2nd place slot and I received the 3rd? We both had same score and same SON, Hjalti beat the #1 player, but I beat Hjalti. But it is complicated, because we both lost a game to a lower place. I would have guessed the second tiebreak would be the head to head result, but that is not what happened. Not complaining, just curious? What is your theory?

I was intrigued, so I looked at few other tournaments. At first, I thought it might have to do with your rating or who's games ended first, but I found some tournaments that don't support these ideas.

My current theory is that if two players get the same score and same SON, then it will list the players in the order that they joined Little Golem.

See, for instance, this tournament that just started and, as I am writing this post, none of the games have ended yet so everyone is completely even:

It lists the players in the order that they first registered.

Even though these three players are listed 1, 2, 3, they are all still listed as the 'champions' for this tournament. I don't think it really means anything that you're listed as 3rd when you're tied for 2nd in score/son.

I thought it was playerid/joindate too. That seems to actually match in a lot of drawn tournaments.

However I found a tournament where it isn't ordered by playerid/joindate:

If two or more players have the same highest score + tiebreak, they are both/all counted as winners, even if the tournament table says no. 1, 2, etc. So I wouldn't worry too much about the number. It seems to be just a bug that the ranks appear to be different.

I have seen several 3-way ties, where A beats B who beats C, and they defeat everyone else. They are listed as equal winners.

Yes, there are even more complicated cases, e.g. the 2nd BReakthrough championship.

The first 3 players tied up in 1st place and the next 3 players tied up in 4th place.
As one can check in the Breakthrough Championships list, the first three are listed as winners (and obviously the next 3 don't show up).

Yes, my experience is too that if A beats B, B beats C and C beats A, they are all three listed as winners. The order in which they are shown is some kind of random, and not important.
It happens often in MC groups.
