Great! I've learned it's a very dynamic game. Not so deep as chess and shogi but exciting in it's on way.

Played this the last time a couple years ago with my dad. Enjoyed it alot more than chess.

Thanks Richard, two games in two weeks!

I intend to add western pieces to Adrians's BiggerGolem addon, not sure yet what pieces to use.

I like the simple design of

what do you think  (have to check if I can use this or redraw it) ?

Maybe easier is to use the Wikimedia Commons ones :

I right now add some new designs. But design from Caroll is better.

Thanks Richard you are the best

Firstly, thank you Richard for all the new games recently :) Loving it!

Question: before Carroll and I go to the trouble of manipulating the SVG for the Xiang'qi board to add the new piece set that he posted to BiggerGolem, is there a reason you avoided using his? Licensing issues, etc? Because if you plan to add his piece set as a supported one anyway, I will probably avoid the hassle of adding it to BiggerGolem, since it seems there is a very good variety otherwise.

But if you are intentionally avoiding it for licensing reasons or somesuch, then I will go ahead and add it to BG :)

Carroll's design (2nd) is already implemented and will be online in next update of software.

    Thanks Richard!

It's awesome news! I already invited some friends to play.

Could you perhaps consider implementing janggi (Korean chess) as well?

It's quite similar to xiangqi and it has many fans too.

  • Richard Malaschitz ★ at 2017-10-31

BTW janggi is in this famous clip in 0:52 https://youtu.be/9bZkp7q19f0

Btw is it possible to create a separate shogi forum?

Shogi has big community, but still incomparably smaller than chess and the posts gets kind of lost.

Carroll: I would love to have the western style pieces.  The real pieces are somehow hard for me to internalize.

  • Carroll at 2017-11-23

You have them already, Richard put 6 different design schemes (button lower right), designs 4 and 6 are with western pieces.

I have enhanced the last one, it should be updated in next release.
