The main question is how will be groups formed. If i am not mistaken, players playing in 2d and lower groups cant become LG champion. Then what is the rule that will choose that 12 players that will struggle for LG Championship?

Ok, i see topic Gomoku 9th LGC bets has already become about C6 Champ =)) but lets continue talking about C6 here.

Richard Malaschitz said that it will start on 5th of may 2006. Ypercube said that in the 1st group will be 9 players from Top10. Dont know from where they have such info, maybe couse they are members they have additional source, or just good links amoung supporters of this site.

But never mind. C6 Champ does not start yet and i want to disscus the propriety of its starting in May. Of course many of us want to play it, me too couse it is interesting competition. BUT, how long it could lasts??? As statistics shows-about 3 mounth. So is it necessary to start it now? Maybe more correctly to start it in September. I just afraid that it will be really immposible to play it for few of us even with 20 days vocation.

Very nice! During all day of May 5th I was inside of TOP 9 by rating. But just now I have left TOP 9. So, you can sure to start the championship now.

In general, now at the boundary of TOP 9 the win over 1500 rating player gives only 4 points. So, without rating tournaments the bigger rating belongs to players who have more enthusiasm to plus 4 points. Moreover, if the player has 40-60 games he has more possibilities to force the games where he wins, and to slow the games where he loses, in order to accumulate the rating before the fixed day.

Andrey, almost all past championships had 9 players in every group. (There was one or two exceptions where the first 10 started in the first league). In the first championship, the Top-9 players started at the 1st league. Then, the next 18 players at league 2, the next 36 at league 3, etc.

Marsh, you can be at position 10, or maybe 12, and still be at first league. Some people may not register for the championship for various reasons (lets say summer).

About people manipulating their rating so to be on the first league, there can almost be nothing to be done about them, except of course beat them and let them go down in the next championship.

In fact, something can be done: Announce that the championship will start at 5th of May and then start it a few days later! Perhaops that's why Richard has not started it yet. Or he just has a busy weekend. I'm pretty sure it will have started by Monday the latest. (just a guess, I have no more inside information that any of you).

About starting in September, I disagree. I hope it starts the sooner. And if it starts now, most games will be finished by June, except of course if one takes all his vacation days during May.

Ok. I am going out of the towm on 3 days, and i hope i will be still in TOP9 when C6 Champ will start. :-))

Heh, i see bad tendency in palying some players C6 champ. Such players like Infinity, Patriot, Russian_boy, Marsh_song play their games too slow, even didnot started yet.
