Reply to this topic Return to forumI'm relatively new to the game and I have three questions…
1) Has Amazons been solved on smaller board sizes? For example, on a 6x6 or 7x7 board size? (I realize with smaller board sizes, the number and position of the queens will have to be changed.)
2) Among strong players, does anyone know what the percentage of wins is with White vs. Black?
3) 50-100 years from now, when computers have the speed and memory to seach the entire tree, and the game is solved, do you suspect the game is a win for the first or second player?
Thanks in advance.

Just had a quick glance at Brainking, they have a White win at 49% and Black at 50%, so pretty even, however this doesn't quiet answer your question, because it's based on all games not just games played by stronger players, the rsults are based on 3400 games played there though.
That's 5 queens each, not total. I think it's 8 queens, if you want to be consistant.
