Let's take a look at http://www.littlegolem.net/jsp/faq.jsp: “What is a GOLEM Championship (GC)?”

1. “The championship is played in round robins of 9 players each.” really? take a look at http://www.littlegolem.net/jsp/tournament/tournament.jsp?trnid=go19.ch.3.1.1, there are 14 players. So, not less, but more than 9.

2. “New players start in lowest league.” I am not sure that is a good rule, but there it is. In the same 3.1.1 there are 5 players from previous 2.1.1, there are 3 players promoted from 2.2.*, so there are 6 new players. Of course, their strength recomends them, but how they were selected?

I am not disagreeing with anything, i am just curios…

1) An update to the rules that's (I think) only been explained in this forum, is that anyone who's in the top 10 in rating and has never been in top section gets an automatic berth there, often resulting in more than 9 players. Ties in the previous cycle can also result in more than 9 players, as can extra players moving down from a large section in the previous sycle.

2) When there are more new players than would fit in the bottom level, the higher rated among them are moved up.
