Anti kill joy
  • klaashaas at 2003-09-04

In this situation, the ref doesn't allow my keeper to kick the ball in the lower left corner.

My keeper is going mad at the moment and I'm afraid he'll be booked and send off if I can't quickly explain this situation to him (which will hopefully calm him down).

Is there anyone who can help me and my keeper? I thought the anti kill-joy rules don't apply in situations where the player can reach the ball AND can kick it.

    Thanks.

I agree - this seems like a perfectly legal move to me too…

A player of your opponent must be able to kick the ball, without having to use the spaces outside the field.

So that's why you can't do that move.

I think Richard wrote that here too.

In the original boardgame that rule was different but I like it the most in this new way.

The crowd would yell to the keeper if he placed the ball in the corner and surrounds it together with his defender. So he should be happy that the referee prevents this to happen and uses his special 'magnet' to hold the ball away from the corner-space. Tell him that.
