If you read Chess Life...

… in the May, June, and July issues, I will run a small ad for the Twixt tournament I will hold at the World Boardgaming Championships this coming August in Lancaster, PA. Sorry for the OT post, but it's really the fault of chess for being so popular. :-)

    Hey David,

Your recent Chess Life advert for TwixT led to my joining LittleGolem.com. I tried to sign up for 1 TwixT game, but I got assigned to 3. It has been 20 years since I played TwixT, and I can see I have a lot to re-learn. Still, I expect to win 2-of-3, and the 3rd it is too soon to know.

I would think LittleGolem.com would be a good place to play chess960 (Fischer Random Chess). But it does require a slightly more full featured web object to display the pieces in different initial setups, know the castling rule, etc.

Anyone interested in chess960 should search Amazon.com books for “chess960”. Give it 50 or 75 years from now: chess960 is the future of chess. The problems with traditional “chess1” are only getting worse. And ever more people are realizing how much of fundamental chess is being hidden from us by the tight restriction of chess1.

    Thanks, Gene_M

some games with random elements are already implemented. I guess that ches960 has no technical difficulties here
